All thread gauges are made of very hard materials (c60-c62) and are cooled to ensure stability. Each thread gauge goes through a series of treatments to ensure that the tolerance of each thread gauge is within ±0.0002/Inch, and then the calibration gauge is used to provide a detailed factory report. As a result, its production of calibration and work specifications meet or exceed the requirements of the API and are used as a reference by the American institute of metrology (NIST) for calibration, while PMC thread gauges have been used as a standard by many of the world's largest casing companies.
